Internet users are not looking for "cheap" mattresses!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 20, 2000 --- Lawrenceville, NJ -- Based on a sample of 25,000 users, What's The Best, Inc. has determined that the vast majority of users of its online buying guide -- WhatsTheBest-Mattress.com -- are looking for queen sized mattresses that cost more than $500. Sixty-two percent of WTB-M users are looking for mattresses in the $500+ category. This appears to indicate that people who use the Internet to research mattress purchases are not exclusively looking for products at lower price points.
Craig Welch, President of What's The Best said, "The mattress site is our favorite because we get more 'thank you' letters from this site than all others combined." Last month WTB-M received 25,000 unique visitors and served more than 250,000 ad impressions. The number of people visiting WhatsTheBest-Mattress.com is growing at about 20% per month.
Mr. Welch also noted that, "We have dual goals here. First, we want to educate and help our users. Second, we seek to turn our visitors into knowledgeable buyers by giving them the information they need to select and purchase a product. We estimate that about 80% of the people that work their way through our site are ready to buy." What's The Best is nearing the final stages of negotiation with several companies that are seeking customers who are "ready to buy" a mattress.
Founded in 1998, What's The Best, Inc. builds and operates buying guides that are designed to help a consumer make an educated decision about which product best suits his/her needs, within a particular price point. Each unbiased WTB decision engine educates the consumer on important purchase criteria, guides the individual to discover his/her specific needs, then educates the consumer about different price point considerations, and finally, displays the specific brands and models that best suit his/her needs. The WTB sites maintain an unbiased stance because they do not sell anything and provide only objective information in their buying guides. Subjective consumer reviews of individual products or manufacturers are contained in the forum and review sections.
What's The Best (WhatsTheBest.net) owns and operates 35 Internet based buying guides for various consumer durable products. WTB hosted more than 260,000 visits and served more than 1.3 million page views in June, 2000 alone.
